Cover White FlowersWhite Flowers by Life, released: 13.03.06

The making of White Flowers has been a long process... Not necessarily in the actual recording of the record but more in the psychological aspects of creating an album which one can call a solo work. I have always worked in the capacity of a linesman. Never as the quarterback. I was always the man who wrote the tune and produced it but never approached the mic to tell the story or to front a band. When Jon Pettersen, Pete Abbott, and Jojje Wadenius came into the picture (in that order I might add) I knew that I had the best that friendship could buy plus they instilled a confidence in me to go ahead with the project.

I have seen many sides of the record business but there are, of course, always new pitfalls to be found. That was when I decided to start Green Pole Records. I have always looked at our studio as being a place where we could "play" so Green Pole Records has to have the same spirit...

Cover The Grey BetweenThe Grey Between by Alfie, released: 23.01.06

The Grey Between is the result of dreams and determination. Along the way Alfie has learned two very important things - "Patience" and "Belief".

The songs are about life, about being human. " I could have explained what each song is about", Alfie explains, "but by doing so I would only take away from the listener". Every song means something special to me and my hope is that someone else can identify with it and bring his or her experience into their interpretation.

To write lyrics, you have to have something to say and in order to have something to say, someone or something has had to have made an impact on you. It could be an everyday event, or come from the far more serious sides of life. Following your dream can and probably should be hard, because it`s only after you`ve met resistance that you learn the true nature of your dream and are able to appreciate the achievement. This is what The Grey Between is founded on.
